Kooth – online counselling resource for young people

Kooth.com is an existing confidential online counselling service which has now been commissioned by Nottinghamshire County Council (going live on January 1st 2007) to provide young people living in Nottinghamshire with free counselling, advice and online support for emotional, mental health and wellbeing issues. It is staffed by fully trained, qualified counsellors, and is open 365 days per year (Monday to Friday 12noon to 10pm; weekends 8pm to 10pm).

The service offers its users:

  • Chat and messaging options
  • Booked sessions with a named counsellor
  • Forums offering peer support and live discussion groups
  • Online magazine
  • Downloadable information, activities, tools and resources

Children and young people will be able to self-refer via a simple online registration form.
